Traffic is congested on U.S. Route 50 at Route CC and Technology Drive, especially during work and school rush hours. The addition of signals and turn lanes will improve safety and traffic flow at these two intersections.

The Missouri Department of Transportation and their consultants designed intersection improvements that include:

  • Adding signals at the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and Route CC.
  • Adding signals at the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and Technology Drive.
  • Pavement widening at both intersections for the addition of turn lanes.

The estimated cost for constructing these improvements as of May 30, 2023, is $2.1 million. This cost may change.

Comment period: June 15 - 30, 2023

Public Meeting

An open-house style public informational meeting was held Thursday, June 15, 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Osage County Community Center in the Function Room. The Community Center is located at 1769 U.S. Route 50, Linn, MO. Attendees could come and go as they please at any time from 4:30 to 6 p.m., as there was no formal presentation. Members of the project team were on hand to answer questions and provide information. Exhibits showing the current planned work were available.

Attendees could leave comments with the project team, either verbally or written. Written comments were also accepted by mail, postmarked on or before June 30, to:

Contract Letting, Award & Notice to Proceed

The project is currently scheduled to go out for bids as part of MoDOT's May 2024 letting when contractors may submit competitive bids. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission may award the contract as part of their June 2024 meeting and, if the contract is awarded, a notice to proceed date will also be given. That is the earliest date the contractor may begin work.

Project Construction and Traffic Impacts

At this time, construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2024 with completion late in 2024.

The roadway is expected to remain open during construction with single-lane closures during working hours.

A: At this time, the roadway is expected to remain open, but motorists will encounter lane closures throughout the construction process.
