SIKESTON-The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house community briefing to discuss upcoming Safe & Sound bridge improvement projects in Scott County. The briefing will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at MoDOT's Southeast District Office, 2675 N. Main St., Sikeston.
"Those interested in the upcoming projects can stop by anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to discuss the project plans with a member of the Safe & Sound team," said Southeast Regional Field Engineer Andy Meyer.
The Safe & Sound program began with 13 bridge projects scheduled for Scott County. Six of the projects have been completed, and the remaining seven projects are expected to be completed in 2011.
Upcoming Scott County bridge projects include:
- P0519: Route W Dist. 3 Main Ditch
- S0673: Route P Whitewater River
- S0745: Route 91 LRDD Ditch No. 1
- J0662: Route 77 Caney Creek
- P0788: Route EE LRDD Ditch No. 1
- P0787: Route EE LRDD Ditch No. 11
- A0926: Route H Interstate 55
Work on the remaining Scott County bridges could begin as early as March 2011.
