Project Description

The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to improve Route 160 in Howell and Oregon Counties.

The proposed project includes the following:

• Widening two box culverts located east of Allen Street in West Plains, Missouri and upgrading the guardrail
• Overlaying Route 160 from Business Route 63 in West Plains, Missouri to Route 99 in Oregon County
• Adding edgeline rumble stripes from Allen Street in West Plains, Missouri to Route 99 in Oregon County
• Intersection improvements at Route BB in West Plains, Missouri
  • The intersection improvements will include widening, adding a right turn lane on Route BB, adding an acceleration lane to merge onto Route 160 and constructing a concrete median with a stop sign.

On Sept. 7, 2023, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $8,260,100 contract to H.R. Quadri Contractors, LLC for improvements to Route 160 in Howell and Oregon Counties. 

As construction is underway, Route 160 and Route BB will be reduced to a single lane at times with flaggers present to guide traffic through the work zones.
