The bridge will be built next to the existing roadway, so traffic will be unaffected for most of the project. At the tie-in locations where the existing and new roadways meet, the road will be closed and detoured for 30 days for construction.
The total project cost is approximately $1,530,000.
Why is this work necessary?
The existing structure on Route D was built in 1944 and is 24 feet wide. The deck and substructure of the bridge have deteriorated and are in need to replacement. The new bridge width on Route D will be 28 feet wide.
