Project Overview

The Callaway County Route BB bridge over Hillers Creek, north of Tebbetts, was built in 1968. The supporting structures of the bridge are in good condition, but the deck of the bridge has deteriorated to the point it needs to be replaced. During the project, the bridge rails will also be brought up to current standards. The bridge will be closed during the project and a signed detour will be in place.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is MoDOT replacing the bridge deck?

Built in 1968, the deck or driving surface of the bridge has deteriorated to the point it needs replaced.

How will the construction affect traffic?

The bridge will be closed to all traffic during construction. The contractor will be allowed up to 50 days for the closure and motorists will be directed to use a signed detour route over Routes AA, 94 and PP.

Why is MoDOT closing the road during construction?

MoDOT strives to be a good steward of taxpayer money. By closing the roadway at the Hillers Creek Bridge, the contractor will be able to work more efficiently within a shorter construction period, saving taxpayer dollars and reducing the time construction will affect motorists.
