What is the problem?
The Missouri Department of Transportation is implementing a project to address the aging pavement and signage. There is a need to replace signage throughout this stretch of road due to the reflectivity. The average life span of reflectivity for signage is approximately 10-12 years. In addition, the department is upgrading the guardrail along the corridor to make them compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.

What are the anticipated impacts?
Crews will be working during off-peak daytime hours. MoDOT will send out any updates and closures relating to the project ahead of time to the public through press releases and social media updates. Message boards will also be in place during the project. There will be flagging operations throughout the duration of the project.
What does the project include?
The Missouri Department of Transportation is planning a pavement improvement project for this portion of the corridor that will include:
- Pavement resurfacing
- Upgrading the signing
- Upgrade guardrail to meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards
