Project Summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation will resurface, make pavement repairs, and  upgrade guardrails to current standards along Route AA in Festus. The Muddy Creek Bridge over Route AA will also undergo rehabilitation.  The upgrades will cover  the entire 4.421 miles of Route AA (see the outlined map below), starting at Route TT at the west end, to the end of state maintenance (railroad tracks) on the east side.   Prior to the start of the project, culvert replacements will be made along the roadway.

March - April 2022

MoDOT Crews will replace culverts along the entire length of Jefferson County Route AA near Festus, beginning Friday, March 25.  Replacements, which will occur in sections, will proceed east to west from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.  During this time, sections of Route AA will be closed to through traffic.  The first section of the roadway to be closed will begin at its end of state maintenance (railroad tracks) on the east side, to Weaver Rd. Section closures are expected to last two-three days.  All culvert replacements along Route AA are scheduled to be completed by mid-April, pending weather conditions.

  • Weaver Rd. to Big Hollow Rd. -  Friday, April 1 (complete)
  • Burley Rd. to Shamrock Rd. - Wednesday, April 6 (weather delay to April 19 - complete)
  • Shamrock Rd. to Route TT - Thursday, April 21 (complete)
  • Burley Rd. to Shamrock Rd.  - Tuesday, May 3 (complete)
