Project Milestones
This project is officially complete. MoDOT KC wishes to thank everyone for their patience.
Phase 3 of this project is set to begin. Crews will make traffic changes beginning Thursday, 9/9 and will last until mid-October.
Crews will build pavement west of the roundabout.
Crews will build part of the southern half of the roundabout.
Crews will build pavement east of the roundabout.
- 92 Highway will remain open for both westbound and eastbound traffic using the roundabout
- Spur 45 will remain open to 2-way traffic
- Spur 45 access to westbound Route 92 will be closed
- Motorists can detour up to Beverly where they'll be able to take a left and get onto 92 southbound
Crews have closed Plattsburbg Rd. to Nations Rd. in order to do the following work:
- Widening the road from 11 feet to 12 feet
- Replacing box and pipe culverts
- Resurfacing the area and regrading ditches
Tentative completion date for the work and the project, Sept. 30
Crews will soon open phase One (Liberty St. to Mount Olivet) and close phase SIX (Plattsburg Road to Nations Road) the week of July 26
Crews will close all lanes of 45 Spur at Route 92 beginning Thursday, May 13 and continuing until Friday, June 11 (30 calendar days) for paving work.
Motorists have several detour options. If travelling east, continue on Route 92 eastbound, then take Route 45 southbound. If travelling west, continue on Route 45, then travel north until you reach Route 92 westbound. Detours signs and digital message boards will be in place to help direct motorists.
What is MoDOT doing on this project?
MoDOT plans to build a roundabout at the intersection of Route 92 and 45 Spur. The recommendation comes following a 2016 study conducted on the Route 92 Centennial Bridge.
What is the timeline for this project?
Project is scheduled to begin in spring of 2021.
Completion is anticipated for the winter of 2021.
What will this project cost?
The cost of the project is $1,872, 044.00 and is funded by MoDOT
What impact will this project have on traffic?
Route 92 will be open during construction, however Spur 45 will be closed during part of the work. SPUR 45 will also be getting an overlay during the closure.
