The improvement of Route 21 from Route B to Desoto is currently on the region's long range plan of highway projects. This means that the remainder of the projects to improve Route 21 have been approved by the East West Gateway Council of Governments but have not been funded. Each section is scheduled to be constructed as funds become available in the future.
