Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why are you working on sidewalks instead of resurfacing roadways?

A: Sidewalk construction and rehabilitation is necessary to meet ADA compliance. This project will include $470,000 in Transportation Alternative Funds (federal funding) which assist in the cost of the sidewalks.

Q: Will I be able to access my property on Route 139 during construction?

A: Yes. Property owners will maintain access to their property throughout the project. While driveway approaches are built, property owners will not have access to drive or park on their driveway for a short period of time.

Q: Will you have to acquire any right of way?

A: Small sections of right of way will be needed along the current sidewalk path for improvements. Temporary easements will be needed along all of Route 139 included in the project.

Q: Who can I contact if I have further questions?
