Public Hearing to Discuss Oak Grove Road Project in Poplar Bluff

SIKESTON-The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house public hearing from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18 to discuss improvements to Oak Grove Road in Poplar Bluff. The hearing will be held at the Poplar Bluff City Council Chambers, located at 101 Oak St. in Poplar Bluff.

MoDOT's portion of the project will include construction of an interchange to provide full access between Route 67 and Oak Grove Road, as well as geometric and traffic signal improvements at the intersection of Oak Grove Road and Westwood Boulevard. The City of Poplar Bluff's portion of the project will include adding lanes to Oak Grove Road between Route 67 and Westwood Boulevard.

Improvements to Oak Grove Road could begin as early as May 2012, with completion in late 2013. As construction is underway, sections of Oak Grove Road between Route 67 and Shelby Road will be closed for several months.

"We look forward to sharing the plans for the project with the public," said Project Manager Tim Richmond. "Visitors can stop-by anytime between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. to discuss the details with a member of the project team and provide their comments."
