MoDOT and consultants from TREKK Design Group are designing a project to replace the Route AC (Riverside Road) Bridge over Route 36.

Public Input Opportunity

MoDOT will offer three opportunities to receive community feedback regarding the intersection improvement project:

  1. An in-person public meeting will be held on May 20, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. at the Rolling Hills Library - Riverside Branch located at 400 Mosaic Court, St. Joseph, MO 64506. This will be an open house style meeting and community members are welcome to drop by anytime between 4-6 p.m. to speak with project experts and provide feedback.
  2. View the information on this webpage and utilize the form at the bottom of the page to submit your comments and/or sign up for project-specific updates. Comments must be submitted by Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Contractor Letting and Award

Contractors may submit competitive bids during MoDOT's scheduled lettings. This project is scheduled to be included in the December 2026 letting.

Q: Will bridge work affect traffic?

A: Yes, during construction the Route AC (Riverside Road) Bridge will be closed. Also, U.S. Route 36 may be temporary closed throughout the duration of the project. More details will be shared as they are determined.
