Project Summary

MoDOT is studying roadway and traffic conditions, and potential improvements to Route EE (Woodson Road) from Natural Bridge to St. Charles Rock Road. The conceptual study is the first step in an internal process to seek funding for design and construction.

The conceptual study will:

  • Evaluate the existing and future safety and traffic of the Route EE corridor

  • Identify possible solutions and the scale of funding needed

General Corridor Observations/Experiences

  • Visually unwelcoming/unattractive

  • General maintenance and upkeep needed

  • Sidewalks and curb cuts in disrepair

  • Limited business visibility

  • Economic development opportunity

  • Concern about impacts of future Lambert Airport

Existing Conditions - Safety and Operations

  • Speeding - additional lights needed

  • Flooding (Natural Bridge near Best Western)

  • Two schools:

    • Students walking/biking & parents picking up/dropping off

    • Difficulty turning left out of parking lots

  • Bus stops:

    • Limited visibility at night

    • Shelters needed

  • Commercial/strip shopping center infrastructure needs upgrading

  • Emergency access must be preserved
