What is this project?
The KCMO Public Works Capital Projects Division in conjunction with The Missouri Department of Transportation will be partnering in the realigning of NW Prairie View Road in North Kansas City.
NW Prairie View Road is located just off of I-29 and Northwest 64th Street. This project will focus on realigning the portion of Northwest Prairie View Road that is south of Northwest 64th Street with the existing North Chatham Avenue and Northwest 62nd Terrace.
Additionally, the project will widen and realign I-29 ramps, realign the trail along Route 45/NW 64th St., and improve traffic signals.
How will this project benefit me?
The goals of this project are to reduce traffic congestion, improve traffic flow, improve safety and make a new and improved roadway connection.
Roadway Improvement includes:
- Road alignment
- signal adjustment
- Curb and gutter
- Storm sewer
- Water main relocation
- Street lighting
What is the project timeline?
Construction begin: April 2020
Construction completion: Spring 2021
