What is MoDOT doing on this project?

In partnership with the City of Kansas City , MoDOT will construct a new single lane roundabout at Route 1 (Prather Rd.) and Parvin Rd. to help improve safety at this intersection for motorist and pedestrians. Click here to review a rendering of the proposed intersection.

How will this project benefit me?

The new roundabout will improve the safety at the currently 4-way stop sign controlled intersection. It will also reduce traffic delay and improve traffic flow. The single lane roundabout will provide a safer environment for the pedestrians to cross the intersection. Click here to review a typical section for this project.

What impact will this have on traffic

In order to minimize construction time and have less impacts on schools and business, the intersection will be closed during construction. Motorist will encounter detours. Residents near the intersection will have access to their property during construction. Click here to review the planned detour.

The project is anticipated to begin in Spring 2020 and be completed in the Fall 2020.

What will this project cost? How is this project funded?
