JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will make the following traffic changes as part of the I-435 and I-70 Interchange Improvement Project. The changes could potentially have a significant impact to motorists. All work is weather dependent.
Crews will close the exit ramp from eastbound I-70 to Blue Ridge Cut-off beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 31 until 5 a.m. Monday, April 1 for shoulder strengthening operations.
Crews will close the exit ramp from southbound I-435 to eastbound I-70 beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, April 1 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, April 2 for shoulder strengthening operations.
This project will have significant impacts on traffic for two full construction seasons. It will replace the bridges within the interchange and the new configuration will be a partial turbine design. This provides the opportunity to make additional safety improvements that include the new bridges, removal of left exits, improvements to the loop ramp configuration, and congestion relief. For more information about this project, visit our website. All work is weather permitting. Traffic MUST follow the signed detours or find an alternate route. Additionally, motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and leave early. For potential impacts to traffic, please review KC Scout cameras at http://www.kcscout.net or consult our real-time traffic partner, WAZE.
