Public Invited to Meeting about Projects in Schuyler County

Lancaster Sidewalk Project & U.S. Route 63 Bridge Replacement

MACON – Individuals are invited to a public meeting that will discuss a future sidewalk project that will be taking place in Lancaster. The proposed project is located along U.S. Route 136, between Fifth Street and Perry Street. Individuals who have property adjoining the project are encouraged to attend. This project is being completed as a part of MoDOT’s initiative to bring all MoDOT facilities into compliance with the current standards of the American’s with Disabilities Act, and is planned to start the summer of 2020.

“We are looking forward to completing this project, as we work towards our goal of making our transportation system accessible to everyone,” said District Utilities Engineer and ADA Specialist Shane Viers, P.E.

There will also be information about the bridge replacement project that will take place late summer on U.S. Route 63 at North Fork Middle Fabius River Bridge, north of Lancaster. U.S. 63 will be closed approximately 45 days while the project is completed.

“We will have maps and plans available for individuals to view on both of these projects,” said Project Manager, Keith Killen P.E.

The public meeting will be held Thursday, April 11th at the Schuyler County Nutrition Center, located at 203 North Marion Street, on the northwest corner of the square, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. MoDOT representatives will be on hand to explain both projects and answer any questions.
