Work will cause lane closure at Route 210 and I-435 in Clay County

CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has resumed construction work on the Route 210 and I-435 interchange improvement project and will make the following traffic change.

Crews will close the left lane of eastbound Route 210 at I-435 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 for grading work.

As a reminder, crews have shifted southbound I-435and Route 210 traffic to the northbound I-435 lanes in a head-to-head configuration, causing that stretch of roadway to be narrow.

This is all part of a project to build a new diverging diamond interchange for I-435 and Route 210, which includes replacing the old twin bridges over I-435 and Route 210 and widening I-435. All work is weather dependent.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
