Various Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled Along I-470 Overnight on April 9

JACKSON COUNTY – Beginning on Tuesday, April 9, MoDOT Kansas City will have various road and ramp closures in the vicinity of I-470, Bowlin Rd., Lakewood Blvd., Woods Chapel, and Raytown Rd. Motorists should note that not all of these closures will occur at the exact same time. Rather, crews do one area at a time and move onto the next. These closures are for paving work. All work is weather permitting.

  • Beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning:
    • Crews will CLOSE Bowlin Rd. and Lakewood Blvd. under I-470/Route 291 for travel beginning at NE Anderson Dr. to approximately NE Lakewood Way. Motorists must find an alternate route.
    • The off ramp from Bowlin Rd. and Lakewood Blvd. to southbound I-470 will be
    • Woods Chapel over I-470/Route 291 will be CLOSED beginning at Ralph Powell Dr. to just past the on and off ramp on the west side. Motorists must find an alternate route.
    • The off ramp from southbound I-470 to Woods Chapel, as well as the on ramp from Woods Chapel to southbound I-470 will be
    • The on and off ramps at eastbound I-470 and Raytown Rd. will be

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
