Various Lane and Ramp Closures at I-435 and I-70 Beginning April 14

JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City will have various lane and ramp closures at the I-435 and I-70 interchange beginning on Sunday, April 14. These closures are for interchange improvements and all work is weather permitting.

  • Crews will CLOSE the right lane of northbound I-435 from Raytown Road to I-70 NIGHTLY for shoulder excavation work on both Sunday, April 14, and Monday, April 15, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each evening.
  • The left lane of the exit ramp from northbound I-435 to Stadium Drive will be CLOSED for the bridge construction DAILY beginning Monday, April 15, until Friday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
  • Northbound I-435 will be reduced to ONE LANE from Raytown Road to I-70 over night for pavement marking work beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • There will be rolling slowdowns in all directions at the I-435 and I-70 interchange on the evenings of Monday, April 15, Tuesday, April 16, and Thursday, April 18 at 7 p.m. These slowdowns will only last about five minutes.

Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
