JACKSON COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City will be conducting nightly pavement work along portions of eastbound and westbound I-70 beginning on Sunday, April 14, until Saturday, April 20. Motorists should expect delays in the area and to find alternate routes in the event a ramp in their trip is closed. This work will include various lane and ramp closures. All work is weather permitting.
- Eastbound I-70 will have various lane closures between Blue Ridge Cutoff and Route 291. Double lane closures are highly likely. This work will take place nightly from Sunday, April 14, until Friday, April 19 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each evening.
- Crews will CLOSE the ramp from Blue Ridge Cutoff to eastbound I-70 NIGHTLY beginning on Sunday, April 14, until Wednesday, April 17 from 8 p.m. in the evenings until 5 a.m. the following mornings.
- Crews will also CLOSE the ramp from eastbound I-70 to Sterling Road on the evening of Tuesday, April 16, from 8 p.m. until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning.
- There will be double lane closures along westbound I-70 from Little Blue Parkway to U.S. Highway 40 for paving work. This work will take place between Sunday, April 15 and Thursday, April 18, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each evening.
- There will be double lane closures along eastbound I-70 from Blue Ridge Cutoff to Noland Road for paving work. This work will take place on both Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
