Intersection Improvements at Route 7 & Commercial

Street in Warsaw Scheduled to Begin Week of April 22

Warsaw – Drivers should expect narrowed lanes and traffic delays when a project to add a right turn lane, sidewalks and traffic signals to the intersection of Missouri Route 7 and Commercial Street in Warsaw begins the week of April 22, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will build a right turn lane on southbound Commercial Street at Route 7, add sidewalks at all four corners that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and install new traffic signals at the intersection.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Traffic lanes will be reduced to 10 feet where contractor crews are working for the duration of the project, with occasional complete lane closures
  • Speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph
  • Contractor crews will work 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday

This project is a 50/50 cost-share with the city of Warsaw.

Weather and/or scheduling delays could alter the work schedule.

Project Information:

  • Prime contractor: Do-Right Construction & Excavating, Lincoln
  • Total project cost: $729,000
  • Contract completion date: November 1, 2019 (however, the contractor expects to complete the project by mid-September)
