Resurfacing Project to Begin for Missouri Route 6 in Adair and Sullivan Counties

MACON – Weather permitting, on Monday, April 22, a resurfacing project on Missouri Route 6 in Adair and Sullivan Counties is set to begin. The project will go from the Chariton River east of Novinger to Missouri Route 129,for a total length of approximately 14.5 miles.

“Crews will first do shoulder widening on the project.  After the shoulders are complete, the roadway will be resurfaced with new asphalt,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Amy Crawford, P.E.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone while the work is completed. A pilot car will be used to move traffic through the work zone. Message boards will also be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work.

Please remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel, and put down your cellphone to help eliminate distractions.

Chester Bross, of Palmyra, Missouri was awarded the contract in the amount of $2,595,497. They have 120 days to complete the project.
