Business 63 Bridge over BNSF Railroad, Two Mile Creek in Thayer to Close

Soil, Rock Analysis to Prepare for Upcoming Project

SIKESTON-The Business 63 bridge over the BNSF railroad and Two Mile Creek in Thayer, Mo., will be closed as crews complete testing needed for soil and rock evaluations.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26.

The testing will allow the Missouri Department of Transportation to analyze the existing soil and rock conditions in preparation for the upcoming bridge replacement project. The bridge replacement project is expected to be let in March 2020, with construction beginning as early as June 2020.

The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
