Work will cause intermittent slowdowns as part of the I-35 and Route 152 Project

CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting various power switches from existing signals to temporary signals from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily beginning Wednesday, April 24 and continuing through Tuesday, April 30. This work will cause intermittent slowing of traffic. The following intersections will be impacted

  • Route 152/Kansas Street and Conistor – Wednesday, April 24
  • Route 152/Kansas Street and Blue Jay Dr. – Thursday, April 25
  • Route 152/Kansas Street and Forrest Ave. – Friday, April 26
  • Route 152/Kansas Street and Route 291 – Monday, April 29
  • Route 152/Kansas Street and Clayview Dr. – Tuesday, April 30

Due to possible outages, officers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be on-site directing traffic. All work is weather dependent.

The is all part of a project to replace the Route 152 Bridge over I-35, make improvements to Kansas Street and Route 291, including adding wider lanes and additional turn lanes. The project will also address bicycle and pedestrian needs along the corridor, and a multiple-use path along the south side of Route 152 and Kansas Street.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
