JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has scheduled several lane and ramp closures on Interstate 70 for pavement repairs as part of an overall paving project. All work is weather permitting. Starting tonight at 7 p.m., motorists will encounter the following closures:

  • The ramp from Noland Road to eastbound I-70 will be CLOSED from 7 pm to 5 am.
  • Crews will CLOSE two lanes of westbound I-70 from 291 to Lee’s Summit Road from 7 pm tonight to 5 am, April 24.
  • Crews will CLOSE two lanes of westbound I-70 from Lee’s Summit Road to 40 Highway from 7 pm, Wednesday, April 25, to 5 am, Thursday, April 25.

The closures are part of a paving project along I-70 between Sterling Avenue and Route 291 that began in April and is expected to be complete in July. This project will have significant impacts on overnight traffic. For potential impacts to traffic, please review KC Scout cameras at http://www.kcscout.net or consult our real-time traffic partner, WAZE.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
