TRAFFIC IMPACT: Planned Lane Closures on Eastbound I-435 Between Three Trails Crossing and State Line Road Starting Friday into the Weekend
On Monday, Eastbound Traffic Will Be in New Traffic Pattern
JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has scheduled several lane and ramp closures on eastbound I-435 from the State Line to Three Trails Crossing this weekend as crews prepare to enter the next phase of the South Loop Link Project and change the traffic configuration.
The Friday closure will have SIGNIFICANT impacts to end-of-the-day commuter traffic headed eastbound. The new configuration will also impact eastbound traffic for a few days until motorists get accustomed to the new flow.
On Monday morning, eastbound I-435 will have three “expressway” lanes that will have NO access to exit ramps and ONE lane that will have access to all ramps but will have to follow a detour on Red Bridge Road to access northbound I-435 or I-49.
Traffic will be in this configuration for approximately 10 days until crews fully switch to phase 2b which will mimic the two express lanes and two exit lanes split configuration similar to westbound I-435.
Crews will also be making needed ramp repairs and performing pavement work during these closures, which include:
Thursday, April 25: Crews will CLOSE the eastbound Wornall Road entrance ramp and eastbound Holmes Road exit ramp from 9 a.m. to Noon
Friday, April 26: Crews will CLOSE the far right lane of eastbound I-435 from State Line Road to Wornall Road from 9 a.m to 7:30 pm. Both ramps from State Line Road to eastbound I-435 and the exit ramp to Wornall Road will also CLOSE at 9 a.m. Friday and remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday, April 29.
Friday, April 26 through Monday, April 29: Both far right lanes of eastbound I-435 will be CLOSED from State Line to Three Trails Crossing from 7:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. In addition the Wornall Road entrance ramp and the Holmes Road exit ramp will be CLOSED.

This work is part of the I-435 South Loop Link project which will replace the bridges at Wornall and Holmes, rehabilitate the bridges at 104th Street and the Blue River, upgrade the pavement on I-435 which includes adding another lane.
