St. Louis Work Zones for April 25 - May 1

ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use I-44 near Shrewsbury need to be aware of a traffic shift back into the eastbound lanes this weekend, as crews finish work on the new eastbound interstate bridge over the BNSF railroad.

Starting at 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, crews will shift traffic currently on the westbound bridge back to the eastbound side so crews can make needed repairs to the westbound bridge. Drivers can expect various lane closures on both eastbound and westbound I-44 as crews are moving traffic. The shift is expected to be complete by noon, Saturday, April 27.

In addition, starting next week city drivers who use Tower Grove under I-44 will need to find an alternate route for a month.

Crews will close Tower Grove under I-44 starting at 9 a.m. Monday, April 29, to rehabilitate the I-44 bridge over the roadway. The work was delayed due to expected rain this week.

Tower Grove will reopen in a month. Drivers can use Vandeventer or Grand as alternate routes during the month-long closure. For pedestrians and cyclists, 39th Street under the interstate will reopen before Tower Grove closes.

For more on roadway closures due to construction, additional work zone information and real-time roadway weather conditions (including flood closures) go to http://traveler.modot.org/map. For real-time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com. All work is weather permitting and may be shifted due to inclement weather.
