Reminder: Sullivan County bridge replacements to begin Tuesday, April 30

MILAN, Mo. – Contractors from Boone Construction Company of Columbia, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to close the West Locust Creek Bridge, west of Route 5 near Humpreys, on Tuesday, April 30 with a planned reopening in early July. Crews will close the West Yellow Creek Bridge east of Route 5 near Milan, Monday, May 13 with a planned reopening early August. Both Bridges will be closed from mid-May through early July.

Travelers over the new structures will see roadway improvements and safety enhancements. Each new bridge will be 32-feet wide lanes, eight feet wider than the current bridge lanes, and new four-foot shoulders.

During these closures, motorists will need to seek an alternate route and follow signed detours. All schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.
