JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has scheduled several lane and ramp closures on Interstate 70 for pavement repairs as part of an overall paving project. All work is weather permitting.
Starting tonight, Wednesday, April 24, motorists will encounter the following closures from 7 pm to 5 am:
- The ramp from Noland Road to eastbound I-70 will be CLOSED
- Crews will CLOSE two lanes of eastbound I-70 from Noland Rd. to Route 291
- Crews will CLOSE two lanes of westbound I-70 from Little Blue Parkway to Noland Rd.
Thursday, April 25th, from 7 pm to 5 am:
- Crews will CLOSE two lanes of westbound I-70 from Noland Road to the Little Blue Cutoff.
Friday, April 26th, from 8 pm to 8 am:
- Crews will CLOSE two lanes of westbound I-70 from Little Blue Parkway to Noland Road.
- Ramps CLOSED during this paving work include: northbound Route 291 to westbound I-70, westbound I-70 to southbound Route 291, southbound Route 291 to westbound I-70, westbound I-70 to Lee’s Summit Road, Lee’s Summit Road to westbound I-70, westbound I-70 to Noland Road, and Noland Road to westbound I-70.
Saturday, April 27th, from 8 pm to 8 am:
- Crews will CLOSE two lanes of westbound I-70 from Noland Road to the Little Blue Cutoff.
- Ramps CLOSED during this paving work include: westbound I-70 to Noland Road, Noland Road to westbound I-70, westbound I-70 to Highway 40, and Highway 40 to westbound I-70.
The closures are part of a paving project along I-70 between Sterling Avenue and Route 291 that began in April and is expected to be complete in July. This project will have significant impacts on overnight traffic.
