JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Access at the U.S. Route 54 and Missouri Route 242 interchange at the Lake of the Ozarks is expected to be limited overnight next week for guardrail work. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., nightly, Sept. 28 to Sept. 30, construction crews, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to close ramps at the U.S. 54/Route 242 interchange. Only one ramp will close at a time, as follows:
- 7 p.m. Sept. 28 – 6 a.m. Sept. 29: Ramp from eastbound U.S. 54 to Route 242 closed.
- 7 p.m. Sept. 29 – 6 a.m. Sept. 30: Ramp from Route 242 to eastbound U.S. 54 closed.
- 7 p.m. Sept. 30 – 6 a.m. Oct. 1: Ramp from 242 to westbound U.S. 54 closed.
During the closures, drivers must use an alternate route.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
As part of its November 2025 meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $9,797,157 contract to Capital Paving & Construction, LLC, to complete a resurfacing and guardrail project on U.S. 54, and Routes 242, KK and MM in Camden and Miller counties.
