Lane/ramp closures on U.S. 50 near MO 291 in Lee's Summit, Sept. 24-26

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will conduct various lane and ramp closures on U.S. 50 and MO 291 in Lee’s Summit. All work is weather permitting and dates are approximate. See below for traffic modifications:

Thursday, Sept. 24 8:00 p.m. until Friday, Sept. 25 at 6:00 a.m.

  • Close the right two lanes EB U.S. 50 from Jefferson to NB MO 291.
  • Close the ramp from EB 50 to NB MO 291.
  • Close the right lane from EB U.S. 50 from NB MO 291 to Todd George.

(Concrete Patching)

Saturday, Sept. 26 between 6:00 a.m. between 3:00 p.m.

  • Close the right lane on EB U.S. 50 west of SB MO 291 to NB MO 291.
  • Close the ramp from EB U.S. 50 to NB MO 291.

(Mill and Overlay)

This is part of a larger project at MO 291N and U.S. 50, which includes bridge replacement, road realignment, and ADA improvements from SE 7th Terrace to SE Oldham Parkway in Lee’s Summit with a completion date of January 2027. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
