Schedule Changed: Various Lane Closures and Rolling Slowdowns at I-435 and I-70 This Week

JACKSON COUNTY – Due to inclement weather, MoDOT Kansas City has rescheduled some construction work at the I-435 and I-70 interchange this week. As part of this work, there will be a rolling slowdown in place along both east and westbound I-70 and north and southbound I-435 at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday, May 2. The slowdown should only last for a few minutes. Additionally, there will be various lanes closed near the Interstate 435 and I-70 this week. The closures are part of the I-435 and I-70 interchange improvement project. This work will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, leave early, or consider an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.

  • CANCELED: The right lane of westbound I-70 from Stadium Drive to Manchester Trafficway will be closed nightly on both Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each evening. This closure is for grading operations.
  • RESCHEDULED: The right lane of northbound I-435 from Raytown Road to Stadium Drive will be closed nightly on both Thursday, May 2, and Friday, May 3 , from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each evening. This closure is for pavement removal. This work was originally scheduled for both Tuesday, April 30, and Wednesday, May 1
  • RESCHEDULED:  The left lane of southbound I-435 from I-70 to Stadium Drive will be closed on Friday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure is for pavement removal. This was originally scheduled for Thursday, May 2.
  • There will be rolling slowdowns in all directions at the I-435 and I-70 interchange on the evening of Thursday, May 2, at approximately 7 p.m. The slowdown will only last about five minutes. Originally, a rolling slowdown was also scheduled for Monday, April 29.
