Road Work for Mid- Missouri

May 6 - May 17, 2019

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of April 29- May 10, 2019. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause traffic delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing, striping, brush cutting and guardrail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.


Boone County
Overnight/Daylight Hours
Route 124 over Grindstone Creek, west of Route 63 – New bridge construction continues. The work is not expected to impact traffic.

  • Grading and excavation work continues.
  • Crews will be clearing the west side of the project.
  • Construction of the new roadbed will begin.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in December.

 Route 163 (Providence Road) between Interstate 70 and Route K – Signal upgrades, sidewalk repair and ADA improvements in various locations continue. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Overnight Hours
Route 63 between Route 763 and the Randolph County line – Pavement repair work continues and crews will begin guardrail upgrades.

  • Work continues at the Route 22 interchange. The work will result in periodic northbound and southbound ramp closures at the interchange.
  • Guardrail upgrades will take place between Route 763 and Route 22. One lane will be open in each direction.
  • The work is scheduled for completion in November.

 Route 763 (College Avenue) between Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) and Rollins Street – Pavement repair continues. One lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Daylight Hours
Route 163 between Route H and Route K – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

  • Shoulder widening will begin the week of May 6. Beginning at Tom Bass Road and working westbound.
  • The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route O between Route UU and Grocery Branch Road – Brush cutting will take place on Monday, May 6 through  Friday, May 17. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Z between Jefferson Street and Route D – Edge rut repair will take place on Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Callaway County
Daylight Hours /Overnight Hours
Business Route 54 between the Route H and Route 54 interchange –Pavement improvement operations will continue. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

  • Contractors will finish grading new shoulders.
  • Various side street approaches are scheduled to be resurfaced within the work area.
  • Resurfacing operation at Silver Drive continues. One lane of traffic will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • New asphalt shoulders will be constructed after the completion of Silver Drive operation.
  • Pavement striping will be completed during the overnight hours.

Route J between Route 54 and Route H – Pavement repair will take place on Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route O between State Street and Route D – Grading operations for shoulder addition will begin Monday, May 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route J and County Road 389 – Pavement repair will take place on Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route NN between Route 54 and County Road 435 – Pavement repair will take place on Monday, May 13 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Camden County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 242 between Route 54 and Miller County line – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. Most of the work is expected to occur overnight in highly traveled areas. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route 242 and Route TT – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. Most of the work is expected to occur overnight in highly traveled areas. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route KK between Osage Beach Parkway and Turkey Bend Road – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. Most of the work is expected to occur overnight in highly traveled areas. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Overnight Hours
Route 5 between Route 7 and Route 64 in Laclede County – Pavement repair continues. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in May.

Daylight Hours
Route 54 between Route KK and East Valley Drive – Pavement improvement and J-Turn installation continues. The project is scheduled for completion in August.


Cole County
Daylight Hours
Route C between Route 54 and Route 52 in Morgan County – Asphalt milling and resurfacing will begin Monday, May 6. In various locations one lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is set for completion in November.


Cooper County
Daylight Hours
Route 135 between Bock Street and Main Street – Sidewalk repairs continue. Much of the work will take place off the roadway. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected through the work area. The project is set for completion in July.  

Route 87 between Route B and Route O in Moniteau County – Guardrail installation continues.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in September.


Crawford County
Daylight Hours
Route 19 between Interstate 44 and Main Street – ADA sidewalk improvements continue. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in December.

Route 19 between Route O and Route P – Pavement striping will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route 49 and Route O – Pavement repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 49 between Route 19 and Route Y in Iron County – Pavement repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 49 between Route 19 and Route Y in Iron County – Edge rut repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route C between Route 19 and Old Route 66 – Edge rut repair will take place on Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Outer Road 44 and Washington County – Edge rut repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Howard County
Daylight Hours
Route V between Route 3 and Route 5 in Chariton County - Pavement repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route JJ between Route 3 and County Road 209 – Pavement repair will take place Monday, May 13 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 Outer Road over the Gasconade River, west of Route 133 – Bridge replacement continues. The road is currently closed. The entire project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route N between Route 32 and south Outer 44 – Pavement repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route 63 between Route 68 and Interstate 44 in Phelps County – Grading, resurfacing, guardrail and rumble strip installation continues.

  • Shoulder work and northbound acceleration lane construction continues at the intersection of Route 68. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in November.

 Route 42 between Route 63 and Parkway Road – Drainage repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 63 between Route 42 and Tenth Street – Drainage repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Miller County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 over Business Route 54 in Eldon – Bridge rehabilitation in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late May.

Route 54 over Old Tuscumbia Road, east of Route 52 – Bridge rehabilitation in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late May.

Route 242 between Route 54 and Camden County line – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. Most of the work is expected to occur overnight in highly traveled areas. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Moniteau County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route E over North Moreau Creek, south of Route 50 – Bridge deck replacement continues. The road is closed during the work. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-June.

Daylight Hours
Route 87 between Route O and Hazel Dell School Road in Cooper County – Pavement repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 87 between Route O and Route 5 in Cooper County – Guardrail installation continues.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route C between Route 54 in Cole County and Route 54 in Morgan County – Asphalt milling and resurfacing will begin Monday, May 6. In various locations one lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is set for completion in November.

Route KK between Route D and Gooseberry Hollow Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Morgan County
Daylight Hours
Route 5 between Clay Road and Zulaue Street – Roadside maintenance will take place on Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area

Route 52 between Route 5 and West View Drive – Ditch repair will take place on Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route C between Route 54 in Cole County and Route 52 in Morgan County – Asphalt milling and resurfacing will begin Monday, May 6. In various locations one lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is set for completion in November.


Phelps County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 63 between Interstate 44 and Route CC – Roadway and sidewalk repair continues.

  • Sidewalk repair during the daytime hours continues. One lane will be open through the work area.
  • Concrete pavement repair during the night time hours between Olive Street and Vichy Road continues. One lane will be closed at a time and the middle turn lane will be used for through traffic. There will also be brief periods of one lane traffic, with workers flagging traffic through the work area.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route 63 between Interstate 44 and Route 68 in Maries County – Grading, resurfacing, guardrail and rumble strip installation will continue.

  • Shoulder work and northbound acceleration lane construction continues at the intersection of Route 68. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in November.

 Outer Road 44 (Arlington Road) between Interstate 44 and County Road 7300 – Guardrail installation will begin Monday, May 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 8 between Route 68 and Crawford County Line – Brush cutting will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route B over the Bourbeuse River Bridge – Crews will begin connecting the roadway to the new bridge on Monday, May 6. The road will be closed during the work. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in June.

Route H between Route 63 and Route C in Dent County – Pavement repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Pulaski County
Daylight Hours
Route 7 over the Gasconade River, south of Rio Road – Bridge painting continues. Minimal traffic impacts are expected. Project is scheduled for completion in June.

Route 17 between Route H and the Texas County Line – Pavement repair will take place on Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Washington County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 185 over Fourche Renault Creek, south of Fourche Renault Road – Bridge rehabilitation continues. The road will be closed during the work. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-June.

Route 21 between Route 8 and Route 32 – Pavement repair will take place Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9. One lane will be open through the work area.

Route 21 between the Jefferson County line and Route 32 in Iron County – Roadway resurfacing and sidewalk repair continues.

  • Roadway paving will continue the week of, May 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • Guardrail work south of Caledonia continues. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in November.
