U.S. 63 in Schuyler County Will Close for Bridge Replacement north of Lancaster

MACON – Weather permitting, Monday, May 13th, U.S. Route 63 will close at the North Fork Middle Fabius River Bridge, located 1.6 miles north of U.S. Route 136 near Lancaster, for replacement.

“We are glad to get this project underway, as the old bridge has deteriorated significantly over the years,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Amy Crawford, P.E.

The bridge will be closed approximately 45 days while replacement work is completed. The new bridge will be approximately 10 feet wider than the existing one.

Traffic is being detoured on U.S. Route 136 to Missouri Route 5 going into Iowa, and over to Iowa Route 2 east connecting back to U.S. 63.

Phillips Hardy, Inc. of Columbia was awarded the project in the amount of $987,830.
