MoDOT starts construction on new Route 109 bridge over Route 100

ST. LOUIS – Drivers who take Route 109 over Route 100 in Wildwood may want to consider alternate routes as crews start work on the Route 109 bridge this week.

Crews will start setting up signs and moving equipment into place over the next week, weather permitting.

During the next few weeks, drivers along Route 109 can expect lane closures near Route 100 during non-peak times.

The first major traffic shift will come when crews shift northbound and southbound traffic to the west side of Route 109 at the end of May. At that time, since the left turn lane across the bridge will be closed, drivers can expect backups on northbound and southbound Route 109, especially during morning and evening rush

The yearlong project widens and puts a new deck on the Route 109 bridge over Route 100, and makes several intersection improvements between that bridge and Manchester Road in Wildwood.
