Kansas City area maintenance work for Sept. 14-18

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be performing maintenance work throughout the Kansas City region from September 14 until September 18. All work is weather permitting.

JOHNSON COUNTY

Missouri Route 23 at various locations: flagging operations for seal coating

  • Monday, Sept. 14 (approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.): between Route Y and Business Route 50 (McPherson St.)
  • Tuesday, Sept. 15 and Wednesday, Sept. 16 (approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.): between Route MM and Route CC

LAFAYETTE COUNTY

Route BB between U.S. Route 24 and Missouri Route 20: flagging operations from Monday, Sept. 14 until Thursday, Sept. 17, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., for seal coating.

PETTIS COUNTY

Route H between Elliot Rd. and Tevis Rd.: road closed on Monday, Sept. 14 from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., for culvert replacement work.

PLATTE COUNTY

Missouri Route 92 at various locations: flagging operations from Monday, Sept. 14 until Thursday, Sept. 17, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for brush cutting work.

  • Location 1: Route 92 at the Centennial Bridge at the Missouri River
  • Location 2: Route 92 over Missouri Route 45

RAY COUNTY

Route A between E 228th St. and Ball Ln.: flagging operation on Monday, Sept. 14 and Tuesday, Sept. 15, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for culvert replacement work.

MoDOT maintenance crews often perform other tasks throughout the work week such as pothole patching, litter pick-up, sign repairs, brush cutting, and other operations that are not included above as they pose limited impacts to traffic.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
