Final 21-day lane closure scheduled for eastbound I-44 in Pulaski County

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A second 21-day, around-the-clock eastbound lane closure is planned to complete the final stages of a project to improve safety and drivability along the Interstate 44 corridor in the St. Robert/Waynesville area of Pulaski County.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, an around-the-clock lane closure will be in place on eastbound I-44, between mile markers 159.4 and 160 in the St. Robert/Waynesville area. The lane closure, current ramp closure from eastbound I-44 to Business Loop 44 at Exit 159, and major traffic impacts on the project are expected to wrap up in early October 2026.

Drivers are advised to slow down and be alert for changing traffic patterns through the work zone.

All work is weather-permitting and subject to change.

During its December 2025, meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $17,096,648.91 contract to Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. to add new climbing lanes in this area and improve the westbound entrance ramp and sight distance at Exit 159.
