HAPPENING TONIGHT: Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled for I-70 and Route 291 Staring May 10

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has scheduled several lane and ramp closures near the I-70 and Route 291/I-470 interchange for pavement repairs. This work will begin at 7 p.m. TONIGHT, Friday, May 10. This work will have impacts to traffic in the area as motorists will need to find alternate routes. All work is weather permitting.

Friday, May 10

  • Beginning at 7 p.m. until approximately 8 a.m. the following morning, crews will close one lane of northbound I-470/Route 291 for paving operations in the vicinity of the I-70 interchange. Additionally, crews will be closing several ramps for this paving operation. The following ramps will be CLOSED at various times throughout the evening:
    • The northbound I-470 off and on ramps to U.S. Highway 40.
    • The ramp from northbound I-470 to eastbound I-70.
    • The loop ramp from eastbound I-70 to northbound I-470.
    • The loop ramp from northbound I-470 to westbound I-70.
    • The ramp from westbound I-70 to northbound I-470.
    • The ramp from northbound I-470 to 39th
