JACKSON COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City has planned construction work at the I-435 and I-70 interchange this week beginning this morning, Monday, May 13. As part of this work, there will be a rolling slowdown in place along both east and westbound I-70 and north and southbound I-435 at approximately 7:15 p.m. Thursday, May 14. The slowdown should only last for a few minutes. Additionally, there will be various lanes closed near the Interstate 435 and I-70 this week. The closures are part of the I-435 and I-70 interchange improvement project. This work will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, leave early, or consider an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.
Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17
- The left lane of the exit ramp from northbound I-435 to Stadium Drive will be closed for bridge construction daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17.
Tuesday, May 14
- The right lane of southbound I-435 from U.S. Highway 40 to Stadium Drive will be closed OVERNIGHT for bridge deck work from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
Wednesday, May 15
- The left lane of southbound I-435 between U.S. Highway 40 to Stadium Drive will be closed OVERNIGHT for bridge deck repair from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
Thursday, May 16
- There will be rolling slowdowns in all directions along both I-435 and I-70 place beginning at 7:15 p.m. that should only last about five minutes.
