JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation is continuing paving work near the I-70 and Route 291/I-470 interchange and U.S. Highway 40 this week. This work will involve several lane and ramp closures. Work will continue at 7 p.m. TONIGHT, Tuesday, May 14 through Wednesday, May 15. This work will have impacts to traffic in the area. All work is weather permitting.
Tuesday, May 14
- Crews will be paving along the auxiliary lane of southbound I-470/Route 291 from 39th Street to the southbound I-470 ramp to westbound I-70 beginning at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
- During this time, the ramp from I-470/Route 291 to 39th Street and the ramp to I-70 will be CLOSED.
- Additionally, crews will be paving the auxiliary lane of southbound I-470/Route 291 from the eastbound I-70 ramp to southbound I-470 and down to U.S. 40 Highway beginning at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.

- The southbound I-470 off and on ramps at U.S. Highway 40 will be closed for paving operations beginning at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
- The northbound I-470 off ramp to U.S. Highway 40 will be closed for paving operations beginning at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
Wednesday, May 15
- Crews will be paving U.S. Highway 40 below I-470 beginning at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. One lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times. However, ALL on and off ramps at U.S. 40 will be closed during this time.
