Two Route 54 Intersections to Close as Part of Safety Improvement Project

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo – Two intersections along U.S. Route 54 near Linn Creek will be closed for median and crossover maintenance.

Beginning Wednesday, May 15, contractors working on behalf of the Missouri Department of Transportation will be installing J-turns at the intersection of Route 54 and Route A. The work will require crews to close access to westbound Route 54 at the intersection while the work is taking place. Traffic from Route A will need to use the Route Y interchange in order to access westbound Route 54.

Work is scheduled to be complete May 23.

Crews will also be permanently closing the median crossover at Route 54 and Cape Woods Road. Traffic needing to cross Route 54 to enter the roadway can use the Route Y interchange or the Linn Creek Business Park Road intersection.

This work is part of a larger project to make several safety improvements along Route 54, including adding median guard cable, installing J-turns and acceleration/deceleration lanes, and routine maintenance to intersections. The project began in November 2018 and all work is expected to be completed in August.
