Interstate 229 lane closures this week

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Motorists on Interstate 229 will encounter single-lane traffic in various locations the remainder of this week. Herzog Contracting Corp., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to resurface portions of I-229 between I-29 and Route 371 (22nd Street) tomorrow, Thursday, May 16 through Saturday, May 18. One lane each direction of I-229 will remain open during the work and a 14-foot width restriction will be in place around the clock. While crews may only be on site during daylight hours, som lane closures may remain in place overnight.

During the work motorists may experience delays. The project is weather dependent and could be rescheduled.
