PETTIS COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting lane closures on U.S. Route 65 north of Sedalia beginning Monday, Aug. 31 for bridge rehabilitation work on the northbound and southbound bridges over Turkey Creek. Crews will reduce each direction of Route 65 to one lane and utilize crossovers to shift traffic into a head-to-head configuration over one of the bridges. Once work on one bridge is complete, traffic will be shifted to the repaired bridge and work will begin on the other bridge. This will ensure one lane of travel is provided in each direction on Route 65 throughout construction. The project is set to be completed in Spring 2027. All work is weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
