MILAN, Mo. – The West Yellow Creek Bridge, located on Route 6 east of Milan, is scheduled to close for a bridge replacement project next week. Contractors from Boone Construction Company, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will begin construction Tuesday, May 28, with a planned reopening in mid-August.
Contractors continue work on the Route 6 West Locust Creek Bridge replacement project, west of Route 5 near Humpreys. Both bridges will remain closed through mid-August.
Local traffic will be directed by a signed detour from Milan on Route C to Route 129 then north to Route 6. Truck traffic will be detoured from the east near Kirksville on U.S. Route 63 south to U.S. Route 36 west or from the west near Trenton on U.S. Route 65 south to U.S. Route 36 east.
All work is weather permitting and subject to change. Motorists are urged to use caution and obey all traffic control, including not moving or going around barricades.
