Lane Closures Scheduled for U.S. Highway 40 Under I-470 on May 23

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting paving work along eastbound and westbound U.S. Highway 40 below I-470/Route 291. Work will begin on Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m. and will last until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning. This will require a lane closure in each direction of U.S. Highway 40, however, one lane of traffic each way will be open at all times. All work is weather permitting.

This work will have impacts to overnight traffic in the area. For potential impacts to traffic, please review KC Scout cameras at http://www.kcscout.net or consult our real-time traffic partner, WAZE.
Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
