HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, as early as August 17, contractor crews will start work on a sidewalk (ADA) improvement project in Adair County. Initially, work will start on Route O in Novinger from Oakland Avenue to Corrigan Street. Upon completion, two additional locations will be completed in the following order:
- Missouri Route 149 from Tenth Street to Second Street in Novinger
- Business U.S. 63 - from East Illinois Street to East Patterson Street in Kirksville
Throughout the project, motorists can expect the following traffic impacts at various locations:
- Temporary closures of pedestrian facilities
- Intermittent lane closures with a 10-foot width restriction at the location where crews are actively working
- Short-term temporary road closures as necessary
The $755,185 contract was awarded to TB Dozing & Excavation, LLC. This project is scheduled to be completed by November 2026.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction at the location where crews are actively working. Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control to guide traffic through the work zone. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
