Road Work for Mid-Missouri

May 27-June 7, 2019

JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of May 27-June 7, 2019. Scheduled lane closures will not take place on Monday, May 27 for the Memorial Day Holiday. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause traffic delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing, striping, brush cutting and guardrail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.


Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 63 between Route 763 and the Randolph County line – Pavement repair continues.

  • Work at the Route 22 interchange continues the week of May 27. Periodic northbound and southbound lane closures are possible.
  • Partial depth pavement repair will take place north of Route 763 the week of May 27. One lane will be closed in the work area.
  • The work is scheduled for completion in November.

 
Route 124 over Grindstone Creek, west of Route 63 – New bridge construction continues.

  • Grading and excavation, clearing and new roadway construction will take place the week of May 27. The work is not expected to impact traffic.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in December.


Route 163 (Providence Road) between Interstate 70 and Route K – Signal upgrades, sidewalk repair and ADA improvements in various locations continue. Occasional lane closures are possible.

Route 763 (College Avenue) between Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) and Business Loop 70 – Signal upgrades, sidewalk repair and ADA improvements in various locations will begin on Tuesday, May 28. Occasional lane closures are possible. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) over Route 63 – Bridge rehabilitation will begin on Monday, June 3. The bridge will be closed during the work, but the entrance and exit ramps at the interchange will remain open. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 between Route 63 and Business Loop 70 -
 Roadway improvements in the westbound lanes will begin on Wednesday, May 29. Crews will apply a High Friction Surface Pavement Treatment designed to provide motorists with more traction in rain and snow. 

  • The westbound entrance ramp from Route 63 to I-70 will be closed from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30.
  • The westbound exit ramp from I-70 to Business Loop 70 will be closed from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Friday, May 31 and Monday, June 3.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in mid-June.


Route 763 (College Avenue) between Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) and Rollins Street – Pavement repair continues.

  • Full depth pavement repair will take place between Route 740 and Business Loop 70 the week of May 27. One lane will be closed in the work area.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 163 between Route H and Route K – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

  • Shoulder widening between Route K and Tom Bass Road continues the week of May 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.


Route N between Route 163 and Easley River Road
 – Chip sealing roadway pavement is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 29. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route NN between Route 63 and Route 124 – Chip sealing roadway pavement continues. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route WW between Route 63 and the Callaway County line – Chip sealing roadway pavement is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 29. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route YY between Route 124 and Red Rock Road – Chip sealing roadway pavement continues. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Business Route 54 between the Route H and Route 54 interchange – Pavement improvements continue.  

  • Striping operations are scheduled for the week of May 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route O between Route D and State Street – Resurfacing, shoulder additions and ADA improvements continue.

  • Grading operations will continue the week of May 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Route HH between Route 54 and Jade Road – 
Pavement patching will take place Monday, June 3 through Thursday, June 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route J and County Road 389 – Chip sealing roadway pavement is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 29. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route NN between Business Route 54 and County Road 435 – Chip sealing roadway pavement is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 29. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 


Camden County

Route 242 between Route 54 and the Miller County line – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route 242 and Route TT – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route KK between Osage Beach Parkway and Turkey Bend Road – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Business Route 54 between Route 242 and Route MM – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Overnight Hours
Route 5 between Route 7 and Route 64 in Laclede County – Pavement repair continues. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-June.

Route 54 between Route KK and East Valley Drive – Pavement improvement and J-Turn installation continues.  

  • J-turn installation at the intersection of Route 54 and Route A has closed access to westbound Route 54 at the intersection. Traffic from Route A will need to use the Route Y interchange in order to access westbound Route 54.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in August.

 
Route J over the Little Niangua River north of Deer Meadow Road - New bridge construction continues.

  • The road will close to traffic on Monday, June 3 and remain closed until August. Detours will be in place around the work area.

 
Route Z between Route 7 and Cable Ridge Road – Chip sealing roadway pavement will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, June 6. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route DD between Route 7 and Climax Avenue – Chip sealing roadway pavement will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, June 6. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route NN between Route 7 and Bannister Hollow Road – Chip sealing roadway pavement will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, June 6. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 


Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 17 over Route 54 – Bridge rehabilitation will begin on Tuesday, May 28. The bridge will be closed during the work, but the entrance and exit ramps at the interchange will remain open. The project is scheduled for completion in late June.

Route C between Route 54 and Route 52 in Morgan County – Guardrail installation, milling and resurfacing continues. 

  • Milling work between Jefferson City and Russellville will take place the week of May 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Cooper County
Daylight Hours
Route 87 between Route B and Route O in Moniteau County – Microsurfacing, guardrail and ADA improvements will begin on Tuesday, May 28.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Route 87 between Route J and Route 50 in Moniteau County – Pavement patching will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 135 between Bock Street and Main Street – Sidewalk repairs and ADA improvements continue. Minimal traffic impacts are expected. The project is set for completion in July.  

Route 179 between Cambell Bridge Drive and Main Street in Wooldridge – Sidewalk repairs and ADA improvements will begin on Wednesday, May 29. Minimal traffic impacts are expected. The project is set for completion in July.  

Route T between Route B and Hopewell Road – Pavement patching will take place on Thursday, May 30 and Monday, June 3. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route J and Clarksburg Drive – Pavement patching will take place Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Crawford County
Daylight Hours
Route 19 between Interstate 44 and Main Street – ADA sidewalk improvements continue. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in December.

Route 19 between Route O and Route P – Pavement marking will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 49 between Route 19 and Route Y in Iron County – Edge rut repair will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, June 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route C between Route J and Gerth Road – Shoulder repair will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Route VV and Route YY – Pavement repair will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, June 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route U between Route M and Meramec Farms Road – Pavement repair will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, June 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Old Route 66 between Route UU and the Interstate 44 South Outer Road – Edge rut repair will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Dent County
Daylight Hours
Route H between Route C and Route 63 in Phelps County – Pavement patching will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, June 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Howard County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 87 between Route 5 and Route 40 – Resurfacing and shoulder addition will begin on Monday, June 3.

  • Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will begin on Monday, June 3. The road will be closed in each work area. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in November.


Daylight Hours
Route 87 between Route E and County Road 323 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30. The road will be closed from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area.

Route J between County Road 316 and County Road 318 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Monday, June 3. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route AA between Route E and County Road 218 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Monday, June 3. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 Outer Road over the Gasconade River, west of Route 133 – Bridge replacement continues. The road is currently closed. The entire project is scheduled for completion in August.

Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route D in Phelps County – Roadway resurfacing and bridge rehabilitations will resume the week of May 27.

  • Paving will take place in the eastbound lanes between mile marker 145 and mile marker 156. One eastbound lane will be open in the work area.
  • The entire project is scheduled for completion in August.


Route 5 between Route 64 and Route 7 in Camden County – 
Pavement repair continues. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-June.

Daylight Hours
Route 17 between Route 42 in Miller County and Route 32 in Texas County – Microsurfacing is underway. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.


Maries County

Route 42 between Route 63 and Parkway Road – Drainage repair will take place Monday, June 3 through Thursday, June 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 63 between Route 42 and Tenth Street – Drainage repair will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 63 between Route 68 and Interstate 44 in Phelps County – Grading, resurfacing, guardrail and rumble strip installation continues.

  • Shoulder work and northbound acceleration lane construction continues at the intersection of Route 68. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in November.

 

Miller County
Daylight Hours
Route 17 between Route 42 and Route 32 in Texas County – Microsurfacing is underway. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route Y between Route and Hittridge Road – Ditch maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Moniteau County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route E over North Moreau Creek, south of Route 50 – Bridge deck replacement is complete. The bridge was opened to traffic on May 21.

Route 87 between Route 50 and Route J in Cooper County – Pavement patching will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route C between Route 54 in Cole County and Route 52 in Morgan County – Guardrail installation, milling and resurfacing continues.

Route 52 between Route 5 and Westview Drive – Ditch cleaning will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route C between Route 52 and Route 54 in Cole County – Guardrail installation, milling and resurfacing continues. 

  • Milling work between Jefferson City and Russellville will take place the week of May 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Osage County

Route 63 at Route 133 – Intersection improvements is underway.

  • Surveying, clearing and grading operations will take place the week of May 27. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in November.



Phelps County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 63 between Interstate 44 and Route CC – Roadway and sidewalk repair continues.

  • Sidewalk repair during the daytime hours continues. One lane will be open through the work area.
  • Concrete pavement repair during the nighttime hours between Olive Street and Vichy Road continues. One lane will be open and the middle turn lane will be used for through traffic. Crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in October.


Route B over the Bourbeuse River, north of County Road 1400 – New bridge construction continues.

  • The road is closed until mid-June for the construction of tie-ins for the new roadway alignment. Detours are in place around the closure.


Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 in Laclede County and Route D – Roadway resurfacing and bridge rehabilitations will resume the week of May 27.

  • Paving will take place in the eastbound lanes between mile marker 145 and mile marker 156. One eastbound lane will be open in the work area.
  • The entire project is scheduled for completion in August.


Interstate 44 between mile marker 183 and mile marker 186 
- Roadway improvements in the westbound lanes are underway. Crews will apply a High Friction Surface Pavement Treatment designed to provide motorists with more traction in rain and snow.  One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 63 between Interstate 44 and Route 68 in Maries County – Grading, resurfacing, guardrail and rumble strip installation will continue.

  • The project is scheduled for completion in November.

 
Route 8 between Route 68 and the Crawford County line – Brush cutting will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, June 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 63 and Route C in Dent County – Pavement patching will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, June 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M between Route 63 and Route J – Pavement patching will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, June 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route U between Route KK and County Road 1220 – Pavement patching will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, June 7. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Pulaski County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 in Laclede County and Route D in Phelps County – Roadway resurfacing and bridge rehabilitations will resume the week of May 27.

  • Paving will take place in the eastbound lanes between mile marker 145 and mile marker 156. One eastbound lane will be open in the work area.
  • The entire project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 7 over the Gasconade River, south of Rio Road – Bridge painting continues. Occasional lane closures are expected. Crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in June. 

Route 17 between Route 42 in Miller County and Route 32 in Texas County – Microsurfacing is underway. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 17 between Interstate 44 and the Texas County line – Pull paving will take place Monday, June 3 through Thursday, June 6. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route AB between Interstate 44 and Route 17 – Pull paving will take place Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Washington County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 185 over Fourche Renault Creek, south of Fourche Renault Road – Bridge rehabilitation continues. The road is closed during the work. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-June.

Route 21 between the Jefferson County line and Route 32 in Iron County – Roadway resurfacing and sidewalk repair continues.

  • Roadway paving continues. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in November.


Route 21 between Route 32 and Route O in Iron County
 – Microsurfacing will take place the week of May 27. One lane will be open and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area.

Route 32 between Route 21 and Route N in St. Francois County – Microsurfacing will take place the week of May 27. One lane will be open and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area.
