Route 63 Bridge Improvements Begin Monday at Grindstone Parkway

COLUMBIA, Mo – The bridge that carries Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) across U.S. Route 63 in Columbia will be closing next week in order to make needed repairs that will extend the life of the structure.

Contractors for the Missouri Department of Transportation will close the bridge beginning Monday, June 3 at 10 a.m. Message boards are in place alerting motorists to the closure and signs will be in place directing drivers to use Discovery Parkway and Stadium Boulevard as detours. Route 63 access ramps at the Route AC interchange will be open throughout the project.

Weather permitting, the rehabilitation work is expected to be complete by the end of the summer. MoDOT says the patience of travelers while the work takes place is appreciated.

This work is part of a larger project to improve seven bridges in Boone and Callaway Counties along Route 63. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by next summer. MoDOT will be releasing more information ahead of work beginning at each location.
