U.S. Route 59 in St. Joseph to close beginning Aug. 12

Route 59 and Alabama Street intersection improvement project in St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Aminos Brothers Co., Inc. working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, has scheduled to close U.S. Route 59 beginning Wednesday, Aug. 12 to place drainage pipes as a part of an intersection improvement project.

Traffic Impacts: Route 59 is scheduled to close from 9 a.m. Aug. 12 to 5 p.m. Aug. 14 between West Valley Street and West Cliff Street, south of Buchanan County Route U. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. MoDOT asks drivers to work with us by always buckling up, keeping your phones down, slowing down and moving over in work zones. Know before you go and check what work zones you might encounter at traveler.modot.org.
